We are currently building and supplying over 500+ government complaint FSM food pacels to families each week over a radius of over 30+ miles across Lincolnshire here at Willoughby Foods. This really is quite an achievement at challenging times.
If your child is self isolating at home and you are entitled to FSM, please remember that we can offer a food parcel or packed lunch (preference instructed by the school). We are here to help!.

Check out our new menu for Term 2 (Nov - Dec) which is available now to order from online. This includes our new fantastic packed lunch option for those schools who are only offering a cold lunch. We are sure everyone is pretty fed up with sandwiches so we are tickling your tastebuds by offering something different. We are hoping you will love it!
Getting ready to return to school?
It's that time of year to prepare for returning to school next week. For many this will be the first time children have been in school for several months however don't worry, we have got lunch time covered.
Some schools have chosen to only have packed lunches however others are continuing to offer our delicious hot school meals. Please refer to our website to order!.
We hope you are all having a fantastic summer break. When you login to place your child's order for meals, you may see a difference on our menu. Due to covid restrictions put in place by most schools we are unable to offer hot meals. However you will find that there are 2 options available for our packed lunches, each containing a sandwich, organic yoghurt, fruit and a sweet treat.
For those schools for which we are supplying hot meals for you will see our usual choices including Roast Dinner Wednesday, Fish Fridays and our delicious Lincolnshire Chipolatas from our on site butchers shop.

Covid Secure
Following the government's announcement to get people back to work after lockdown, 'working safely' guidance has been issued to employers for implementation. Although the term 'Covid - secure' is new, almost all of the proposed measures should now seem familiar to us all: handwashing, using signs and markings to maintain social distancing, extra cleaning/sanitisation of surfaces, avoiding face to face working and using screens/barriers.

As part of the 'Eat them to defeat them' we are encouraging children to eat more vegetables. This week sees Carrot Week so look out for extra crunchiness with our roast dinner on Wednesday.

We are delighted to share the news with you that we have recently been awarded with the School Food Standards Compliant award. This means that our menus have been checked and approved by the Food Education Team at Lincolnshire County Council. As the first school meal provider in the area to be granted this, we are extremelly proud of this achievement. Together we are ensuring children are enjoying healthy, tasty and nutritious school meals which are compliant with the School Food Standards.
There is lots to look forward to this term including National Roast Dinner Day on Wednesday the 13th of November and of course Christmas Lunches throughout December.
We have had a very busy first term with taster sessions at Helpringham Primary School & St Gilberts of Sempringham. We have also taken our tractor into Wyberton Primary & St Thomas's Primary School along with providing Classroom workshops for these schools. Thank you to everyone who supported us at these school events, its always great to meet our customers.!!!

We had a great time last week visiting reception class at Wyberton Primary School with our tractor. Each of the children sat inside the tractor enjoying the view from so high up. We also spotted lots of interesting shapes on the vehicle and sang a fantastic tractor song. Thank you for letting us visit and we look forward to seeing reception classes at St Thomas' Primary School next week.

We have all seen such a lot of rain this week with many areas of our community suffering seeing floods in homes and transport issues. As a result of this a couple of our local schools were forced to close leaving us with lunches which had already been prepared for the children. We knew a place where this food would be gratefully received and promptly delivered it to the Centrepoint Outreach centre in Boston Town Cente.
The team there were delighted with the hot food as many were sheltering from the terrible weather.

Just before half term we held a very successful cooking workshop at Fleet Wood Lane Primary School with Narwhals class who have been very busy growing plants, herbs and vegetables ready for the summer.
The children had lots of fun learning about the groups of fruit and vegetables along with trying out new foods. We then went on to make Banana & Strawberry Smoothies which everyone enjoyed tasting making lots of milk moustaches along with way.
April this year saw Willoughby Foods joining forces with Acorns and Little Oaks Childcare who have 3 Nurseries based in Spalding to provide their lunch and tea time meals.
The feedback so far has been brilliant with the children really enjoying our Roast Dinner Wednesdays, Pasta dishes and Garlic Bread. We look forward to working with you in the future!!.
With everyones favourites including Roast Dinner Wednesdays, Vegan options and our delicious homemade desserts such as Banana Loaf Cake and Apple Sponge and Custard there is something for even the most fussiest of eaters.
We had a fantastic time last week at Heckington St Andrews Primary School with Oak Class discussing healthy eating, looking at different groups of fruit and vegetables, trying new foods and finally making a delicious fruit smoothie.
The children had a great time exploring their senses, tasting and smelling new foods. Lots of chopping then took place to make the smoothies. These were given the thumbs up with everyone enjoying the fruity taste!.

We had a wonderful visit to Fleet Wood Lane Primary School last week to assist Class 6 in their learning of World War 2. Our cooking workshop included the children making war time favourties Corned Beef Hash and Carrot Cookies.
We have since received some lovely thank you letters from the Class with the children really enjoying cooking, trying new foods and experiencing food in war time.
It was lovely to see so many of you dressed up as your favourite characters on Thursday as World Book Day decended upon us once again. Above are some of the winners from Clough & Risegate Primary School, Gipsey Bridge Academy, Holbeach Academy and Old Leake Primary School of our lunch time competition with the children receiving 'Dave's Breakfast Blast Off', 'Doughnuts for Dragons' or 'The Bean Machine' book to treasure and enjoy at home. We hope you all had a fantastic day.
Our new menu for the Spring months of April and May see the introduction of Vegan dishes for you to try.
With weekly delicious additionals of meals including Spicy Bean and Spinach Wrap, Vegan Sausages, Mixed Bean Casserole and Mild Cauliflower and Chickpea Casserole there will be something for everyone to try. Your feedback as ever would be gratefully received.
We recently had a wonderful visit to Gosberton Academy with Sri Lanka class exploring their 'Scrumdiddlyumptious' topic looking at Fruit & Vegetables with the class making their very own Strawberry & Banana Milkshake. Lots of fun was had by all with plenty of milk moustaches proudly displayed at the end of the lesson!

We were delighted to welcome Year 1 from Ayscoughfee Hall School to Willoughby Farm last week. 
The children discussed where our food comes from, looked at the machinery and of course saw the stars of the show the calves on the farm.

At Willoughby Foods we now recycle our food waste, cardboard and tins, along with providing Fruit Yoghurt in larger containers rather than individually served desserts in an attempt to reduce the amount of plastic we generate within our school meal service.
Why 'Special Person Day' ?. We wanted to consider the fact that not all children are cared for primarily by 'Mum' anymore. Grandma/Auntie/Neighbour all care for our children and deserve recognition on special days such as Mothers Day. Look out for our delicious cupcakes on the 9th March to take home to that 'Special Person'.
World Book Day is on Thursday the 1st of March this year. Keep an eye out for our special themed menu featuring a very faithful friend.
